Stunning antique pin cushion and thimble holder from mid 1800s, Victorian or Biedermeier era.
This rare sewing tool is decorated with an hand painted bisque dog figurine (marked with the embossed number "1003"), sitting on an oval platform covered in blue velvet and surrounded by an engraved brass border.
The actual pincushion is made from a shell, just as the floral decoration is made from small shells and coral.
On the pincushion there are still two original antique pins with glass floral decoration.
The bottom has 4 feet and is covered with floral paper, on which is pasted an old handwritten label, the writing of which I could not identify.
Lovely antique item in great vintage condition.
